Answered God’s call to pastoral ministry after 26-years in the construction industry. Following the death of two very close friends and spiritual mentors, and a brother-in-law, it took the conversation with a total stranger to wake me up to what God desired of my life. As I supervised a scaffold erection crew on a project in Amarillo, Texas I had my burning bush experience of God saying to me, “Tom, I want you to stop building things and come along side with me in helping people rebuild or build their lives.”
After fervent prayer on my part and the prayers of many close friends and family, I surrendered to pastoral ministry and have been blessed beyond measure ever since. My first pastoral service began in the small church in Fluvanna, Texas as a lay-preacher in January 1999. Since January 1999, I (we – my wife Rhonda and me) have served United Methodist congregations in the following communities of Texas: Plains, Vernon, Paducah, Allison, Wheeler, Benjamin, Knox City, Olton and now Muleshoe and Earth.
Graduating from Lubbock Christian University in December 2000, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management, coupled with my sales and management professional experience and seminary studies God continues to equip and use me for pointing others toward Jesus Christ, assisting them in identifying what God is equipping for service, and building God’s Kingdom here on earth.
We (Rhonda and I) are excited about the opportunities that the communities of Muleshoe and Earth offer and looking forward to working with the wonderful people in both communities in building God’s Kingdom as a Disciple of Jesus Christ and shepherd of those God places in my shepherding care!
